Renowned Gospel Musician and Buikwe District Woman Mp Aspirant 2016 – Judith Babirye during her recent campaign trails.

Today morning, we woke up to an alarming message that was published by one of Uganda’s notable Christian radio station Spirit FM through their social media platforms. It did raise a lot of anxiety to us, but more so to those that love gospel music, family, friends and supporters of Judith Babirye.

The message read as below

“Female Gospel Artist Judith Babirye says that she’s quitting Music that she won’t have time for studio and writing songs due to politics. Have your Say.”

The message has up to this very moment received a lot of attention however; no one could justify the allegations as true or false?

To get to the basis of all this, Ug Christian News took up the initiative of calling both Judith Babirye and her Brand manager Caroline Nakato over the contention.

To our surprise, Caroline said that our phone call was not the first, but the 4th of many that came through over the same issue.

Speaking to Judith Babirye, who at that moment had no idea about the allegations, requested that we read out the post.

In response, she said that everything we had read out was false information. She’s not quitting music on any grounds, much more those listed by the radio station.

“There are people who need us down. They will say anything to attract the attention of the crowd or for cheap popularity.  What I do is more than music, it is worship. This is my life style. Giving up on music is like giving up on worship, something I definitely cannot do. God will guide my feet. He who begun this good work in me will surely bring it to accomplishment.

Concerning what was posted, it is actually not me that you should be talking to but rather the media house that released the publication.  They should justify their claim of me quitting gospel music. Where and when did I say so? Why are they saying it now that I am in my campaigns, they should wait until I become a Member of Parliament. They are just desperate. Good enough they wrote it when I am alive and well. That is nothing but propaganda.” Stated Judith Babirye.

She further added on to say that no one can write her life journey but God. “I am working and soon will be releasing my new album right after the campaign; we will have a mega concert.”

That clarified, we had to ask Judith Babirye much more about the album. Most of the interviews that she has been engaged in lately cover he pursuit for politics.

Therefore, back to Kingdom business, “I am releasing a complete album of 7 songs right after the campaigns titled ‘Sitarudi’. Other than the Sitarudi single, majority don’t know most of the songs off the album but they will be out soon.

To shed light on her absence from the recent Viga Awards event that took place on Saturday where Sitarudi was nominated and announced as the best Inspirational song 2016, she said, “It was such an honor and I do appreciate the award. I was unable to be their but my team was there to represent, Dangelo, Julie mutesasira and many others.”
