God is at work amid Covid-19 chaos – Bishop Kiganda

COVID-19 and Psalm 121

The Coronavirus pandemic has caused deaths across the globe, stripped people of their livelihoods and even shuttered places of worship.

But Bishop David Livingstone Kiganda, the senior Pastor and founder of Christianity Focus Ministries, rejects any theology that purports God is totally unaware of what is happening.

“In the midst of chaos, let’s make no mistake, God is at work. His plans will not be thwarted and his people will not be overcome,” Bishop Kiganda said on Thursday.

Over 290,000 people across the globe have succumbed to the virus. Political leaders have implemented “stay at home” measures and discouraged large gatherings leading most Churches to re-fashion how they stay connected with their communities, mainly through online streaming services.

“It’s still so hard for many of us to wrap our minds around the reality that COVID-19 has flipped our world upside down. Wherever you are, we are watching the restrictions on daily life grow tighter and tighter. It seems unreal sometimes,” Bishop Kiganda said.

“We are undoubtedly witnessing history in the making. Years from now, scholars and historians will invest heavily to analyze the effects of COVID-19 on our society, economy, mental health, physical health, and I pray they will remember our spirituality. In many ways, the world has been caught by surprise,” he said.

Bishop Kiganda urged that Psalm 121 is a treasure of promise for any believer, whose help comes from the Lord.

“Your Heavenly Father who watches over you does not sleep nor slumber Psalm 121:4. Instead, He is always at work because He is working all things for our good no matter how seemingly hopeless or near impossible the situation is or looks. Stay hopeful dear brothers and sisters,” he said.
