In celebration of International Women’s Day, we would like to draw your attention to Grace Kyakuwa, a young lady and aspiring journalist, who has for several years now used her social media platforms as a mission field to reach out to multitudes with the gospel.

The world saw her as disabled but she saw herself without limits. Not only has Grace overcome her physical disabilities through God’s word, but also helped many break their mental barriers.

“God expects us to be light in the darkness, hope in a hopeless world, peace in storms and joy in the midst of sadness,” she wrote on her Facebook timeline. “I believe in being a blessing to other people.”

Grace realized that listening to other’s opinion is one of the root causes of low self-esteem and doubt. She refuses to let people decide her worth, no matter what comes her way. Her strong belief in God has strengthened her to not give up and she started to feel limitless instead of considering herself helpless.

“Don’t judge yourself by the way the world treats you because they are unable to discern your true value,” she said.

“Miracles happen only to the believing. So believe. Doubts never produce your desired results. Stop advertising your doubts. Start celebrating your expectations of a miracle. When the twelve spies invested thirty (30) days out spying, ten (10) chose to doubt. So, God gave them 40 years of pain. A single day of doubt can bring 365 days of heartache. The costliest experience on earth is doubt,” she stated in another Facebook post.

“You and I may have absolutely no control of what happens to us, but we can control how we respond. If we choose the right attitude, we can rise above whatever challenges we face – Optimism is empowering, it gives you control over your emotions. Pessimism weakens your will and allows your moods to control you,” she said.

When contacted by Uganda Christian News for an exclusive interview, Grace referred our reporter to her pastor for consent, something the born-again preacher found humbling. “If it related to ministry, Grace is always open to it,” he told our reporter on phone.

Grace has shown the reality to the world that physical disability can’t stop anyone to be limitless. All we need is hope and faith to break our mental barriers and be limitless.

We are much more than our appearance, we simply have to be thankful for what we have. With faith and hope we can transform our walls into doors to happiness and opportunity.

“You will never leave where you are until you decide where you would rather be. The day you make a decision about your life is the day your world will change. Move decisively toward the goals you have established. Intolerance of your present creates your future. Today…Is Your Seed Toward Tomorrow. Your future is decided by whom you’ve chosen to believe,” she wrote on her Facebook timeline

“Jeremiah 32:27, Behold I am the Lord God of all fresh is there anything that is too hard for me? Says the Lord God has a purpose for your pain, a reason for your struggle and a gift for your faithfulness. Trust God and don’t ever give up,” she wrote.
