Mrs Dorothy Kisaka believes that one of the most important revelations we can get from the Word of God is understanding who we are in Christ.

Kisaka who was appointed Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority in 2020, urges that identifying with Christ will change the way we live and cause us to rise above adversity.

According to her, not understanding our identity in Christ will keep us living far below our rights and privileges in Him.

“I would have fainted if I didn’t know that there are promises for those who derive their identity in Christ,” she says in her sermon titled ‘The Righteous Will Flourish.’

How do we thrive in difficult times? Mrs Kisaka says it is through affirming our identity in Christ, proclaiming His promises, and abiding in His courts.

“We need to affirm our identity in Christ: The work that Christ did on the cross is a perfect and complete work. It is a work that was attained for the child of God (to have) everything that you need to thrive,” she said.

“There are people who have died the world over, but when we have our identity in Christ, death does not threaten us, because death is a doorway into the presence of God. Hallelujah! When we hold on to fear, we are disabling ourselves from tapping into the presence of God,” she said.

She explained that Christ removed the obstacle to having a personal relationship with God, by paying the price for each believer’s sin with His death.

Citing 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Mrs Kisaka taught that in describing his ministry to the Corinthians, Paul revealed that “the old has gone” and “the new has come” as a result of affirming his identity in Christ.
