Released from demonic oppression, possession and bondages.

A Christian musician who was earlier miraculously healed of kidney failure spearheaded a gospel initiative that saw multitudes give their lives to Christ in a region where witchcraft is very much a current practice.

Ezra Baagala conducted an evangelical crusade and conference in Makokoto village, Bukuya Subcounty, Mubende District with his mission team from 11th to 15th November 2019.

“Following my healing in 2018, I started an evangelism ministry called ‘Mission to Heaven’. We are at the present time doing crusade, conferences, and overnights in churches that invite us,” Baagala told Uganda Christian News. “However, this time, I decided to take this mission to my home village because these people saw me when I was sick.”

“The village had been captured by witchcraft, but we left when it’s free,” they said.

“Over 40 people got saved and we baptized at least 28 of them,” he said.

“It always seemed like it was going to rain at the crusade ground, but with prayer, it didn’t,” Luke Kisaka, one of the Mission members said.

On 16th November 2019, Baagala and his team managed to baptize new believers in Makokoto parish, Mubende.

Baagala explained that in Makokoto village, witchcraft has for long been the order of the day, with vivid negative effects on the families in which it still flourishes.

“The spiritual atmosphere was dominated by witchcraft. Many were drunkards. One actually poured liquor into our sound equipment. This was a challenge. We had to send for another mixer from Kampala. The village has churches, but we realized that many were growing ‘cold’ due to demonic oppression. Our visit brought revival,” he said.

“From the people who gave their lives to Christ, many surrendered witchcraft objects believed to have supernatural powers to be burnt,” he said. “We expect to go back for a follow up.”

Uganda Christian News reported in 2017 how various Christian artists announced a campaign aimed at raising funds for Ezra Baagala who was diagnosed with kidney failure – both right and left organs were at the verge of shut down, and doctors had referred him to South Africa.

Ezra’s sickness started December 2016, however did not receive treatment till January 2017 when he went for a medical checkup at Mengo Hospital in Kampala.

A miraculous move of God, as he revealed during an interview with this website, brought the campaign to a stand still as the singer months later went for a medical check up only to return with a report confirming two healthy kidneys, without a trace of infection.
