Phaneroo Ministries International witnessed thousands in the northern region of Uganda receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior during a gospel crusade commenced Friday at Kaunda sports grounds in Gulu district.

“What joy when many come to the saving power of our Lord and Savior. Heaven celebrates!,” the ministry said in an update.

Phaneroo Ministries International team leader, Apostle Grace Lubega shared the gospel, and urged listeners to shun witchcraft.

“Witchcraft won’t save you, but Jesus can,” Apostle Lubega said, as reported by the Ministry.

“Jesus gives sight to the blind, He heals the sick and He can heal this land of its past,” he added.

Communities in northern Uganda are taking solid steps to rebuilding their lives after the devastating 20 year guerilla war fought by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in the past decades.

Media reports show that a generation of young people missed out on going to school and local Churches experienced low growth due to the conflict. Many lost parents or siblings in the violence; thousands were themselves forced into combat, child marriage, or sexual exploitation, and remain haunted by their memories of the war.

Jointed by preachers from various parts of the country and beyond, Apostle Grace Lubega’s ministration in the region helped many recover from the devastating past by finding true peace in Christ.

People were seen with tears in their eyes, while worshipping and praying during the night of the event. “What the devil meant for bad, the Lord turns for good,” Apostle Lubega said.

Bunty Desor, the founder and senior Pastor of New Life Deliverance Worship Center in USA left his country to be part of the crusade.

“It’s absolutely amazing that over 2000 people received Jesus at the Karunda grounds in Gulu yesterday evening,” Pastor Bunty revealed on Saturday morning.

“Today is Day 2. Pray as many will be delivered from the bondage of Witchcraft and demonization today,” he added.

Phaneroo plans to reach more residents in the region with the gospel, and has determined to minister in power over the next few days. In addition to the crusade, the ministry intends to hold a Pastors’ conference on 1st February, 2020.

In a statement released earlier, Church members who camped in Gulu acknowledged “the warmth of the locals and more so their hunger for the Word of God.”

The ministry also conducted a clean-up of the Gulu main market on the 24th January and held various sports activities—basketball and football matches—on the 25th January at Kaunda grounds and Pece War Memorial Stadium respectively.
