A witchdoctor in Uganda recently made a bold decision to seek help from a pentecostal Church in her area after failing to give birth after her due date.

According to Pastor Carol Nakato, director at Oasis of Hope Ministries, the witchdoctor, unidentified by the ministry, “ran” to the church “to be prayed for” after failing to give birth to her baby for over 12 months.

According to health officials, the average length of human gestation is 280 days, or 40 weeks, from the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period.

“This lady was deeply deeply involved in witchcraft and sorcery for a long time. Every morning when our church members would be having morning glory, she would also start her witchcraft against the church,” said Pastor Carol Nakato.

Pastor Carol explained in an update on her official facebook page that efforts to reach out to the witch-doctor with the Gospel of salvation hit a dead end at the time.

“We reached out to her many times with the gospel but she would not want to hear of it,” the pastor said. “Then she got pregnant and after 11 months she was still carrying the pregnancy.”

Pastor Carol said that the witchdoctor became very worried about her life and that of her baby’s.

“Her witchcraft could not help her. Then she ran to our church to be prayed for,” the pastor said.

“She kept on coming for prayers for almost 2 months. After carrying the baby for 12 months in her womb, God finally delivered her. She now has a bouncing baby boy. She asked us to dedicate the baby to God. We also named him Mukisa. Which means Blessing. The mother gave her life to Jesus Christ and she is giving her testimony to anyone that would listen. All the glory to God,” Pastor Carol said.
