In a bid to reach more Ugandans with the gospel, The Jesus Film has been translated into Rufumbira language, as spoken by multitudes who live in Kisoro District, among other areas in the South-Western part of Uganda.

The translated film, launched by LIFE Ministry Uganda in partnership with the body of Christ in Kisoro, is a video representation of the Gospel according to Luke, telling the story of Jesus Christ.

Over 170+ souls gave their lives to Jesus Christ when an altar call was made at its first showing at Mayor’s Gardens in Kisoro Town on 25th June 2022, proving that indeed the development is an effective tool for evangelism, discipleship and church planting.

Reports show that it is now less than 865 languages away from being translated into every documented tongue in the world with 50,000 or more speaker. So far, the Jesus Film has been translated in 32 languages in Uganda alone.

In his remarks at the launch staged at Seseme Girls Secondary School, Kisoro Chief Administrative Officer Manasseh Rukundo thanked LIFE Ministry saying that the Bafumbira will easily grasp the Gospel without an interpreter since the Jesus Film is now available in their language.

“The impact will even be great among the people since the message of Jesus Christ is now in their dialect” Mr. Rukundo stated.

Former Ethics minister Hon. Dr. James Nsaba Buturo used his speech at the launch of Jesus Film in Rufumbira to encourage the Church to wake up and be alert to what is happening in the country and beyond.

“This country will rise only when the church wakes up. We will not go very far if the church continues to behave as business as usual. May Kisoro be a shining example for the rest of the country to emulate” Mr. Buturo said.
