For the very first time in Uganda, eight established gospel deejays are expected to meet and showcase their skill at the same event.

‘The Burn Out Silent Disco’ will bring together deejays Peruz, Twonjex, Stef, Conqueror, Rayne, Byg tym, Rhymz, and Awar, who is the event host.

Most of these deejays have randomly been seen perform at gospel events and are presenters on Christian radio stations.

Coming together for the same event however, is something no one has witnessed before in Uganda.

“This year I plan to invest more in events and creating platforms for urban gospel music. My first project is The Burn Out Silent Disco. I know the concept of a Silent Disco is not new to the secular but my major reason for this event is to create platform for Gospel Deejays to showcase.” Deejay Awar said, in a statement received by this website.

“I believe that it is time for gospel Deejays to grow and you will notice most of my events will be focused on my new project, “Dance Floor Clean Up”. I will keep sharing with you and I hope you will be able to be a part of this new challenge I have taken.” He added.

DJ Awar, who doubles as a presenter on Christian station Spirit 96.6 FM said attendants should expect a surprise guest Deejay.

We have also learnt that the DJ’s will be distributed among three channels; Red (Twonjex, Stef, Conqueror), Blue (Peruz, Byg Tym, Rayne) and Green (Rhymz, Awar)

The Red Channel will feature Reggae, Ragga, Dancehall and Afrobeat gospel music.

The Green Channel will feature Hiphop, RnB, Crank, Dubstep, Rap, and Fusion gospel music.

The Blue Channel will feature Lingala, EDM, Tecno, Afro pop, High life, Pop and Socca gospel music.

The event will take place tomorrow – 7th April, 2017 at Sehab Restaurant next to Bible house (Bombo Road)

Entrance is 20,000/=, beginning 7pm.
