While campaigning in West Nile yesterday, Presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi started the day in Vurra where he engaged his supporters in a wide range of issues from healthcare, education, infrastructure and the advanced Sub-county model.

Amama challenged President Yoweri Museveni on futile mentorship of a successor.

He asserted that since Museveni was not interested in mentoring any successor for the past 30 years, he should be voted out of power.

“How can you be a leader for 30 years and after 30 years you say, ‘I cannot see anyone worthy of succeeding me,’ so we think it is time for change of leader,” he stated

Amama further said that the ruling party has for the past years failed to find a remedy to poverty.

Earlier on in November 2015, two Uganda People’s Congress -UPC leaders Ruth Acheng, the Kole District Woman Member of Parliament and Dr. Wilson Ogwang, the Lango Region UPC Youth chairperson took turns to campaign for Presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni in the same region, asking voters at Gurepi Primary school playground in Koboko district to reject rival Ex-prime minister Amama Mbabazi.

Aceng asked voters in West Nile region to task Mbabazi to account for the Northern Reconstruction funds during his tenure as prime minister.

“Mbabazi never contested for presidency while still in office. He enjoyed the money for Plan for the Rehabilitation and Development Program-PRDP for Northern Uganda Reconstruction,” she said.
