Ap Sarah Bunjo to Churches: ‘Arise, repent and pray’

Where are the watchmen of the nation?

It is an urgent time for all of us to get our lives in order before the Lord, become fervent in prayer, and find our position as God’s watchmen. This is according to Apostle Dr Sarah Bunjo of Christian Restoration Ministries International.

Speaking during a prayer seminar labelled ‘The Awakening Call’ at Christian Discipleship Ministries International (CDMI) Church – Kololo this week, the wife to Apostle John Bunjo encouraged Christians to align with God’s will and apply biblical truth to their daily lives.

Sarah Bunjo cautioned against disobedient and prayerlessness asserting that the Church seems to have lost its saltiness.

“We have compromised,” she said. “We have lost our position.”

The Apostle also warmed against “gimmicks and double mindedness” noting that God is “calling us to enter into our inner rooms” for repentance and deeper intercession for the nation.

“God is so gracious, He doesn’t want to pour out judgement on his people. Right from the disobedience of the children of Israel, God gave room for grace as long as people did what they were supposed to do,” she said.

The Apostle stated that today, “when a voice comes asking us to repent and change our ways, we say they are judging us.”

“We must change our ways! If we do not turn from our wicked ways wrath is coming. Our ear are waxed, we want to hear only soothing words,” she said.

Many Ugandans watch the daily news to see in the natural what is happening, but Apostle Sarah Bunjo explained that God wants Christians to further watch and see spiritually what is occurring on the earth.

“God is not waiting for a crowd. If only you and I stand, God can deliver the church,” she said.

“I pray that the church of my generation will not forget the lockdown times where God locked the world with his master key. No one can close before God closes… There are things that even the heathens don’t do but we the children of God do. We have brought close the abominables and pushed away His glory,” she added.

“Am sure if you and I take our position God will save our land. There is power in repentance. Before Nehemiah engaged in battle, he made his way right with God. Today we engage in spiritual warfare when we are naked,” she said.

Watchmen in the Bible were guards responsible for protecting towns and military installations from surprise enemy attacks and other potential dangers. However, the Bible also refers to watchmen in a spiritual sense.

God instituted them to urge His people to live faithfully and warn crowds of the perils involved in falling away from his Word and doing evil.

“Where are the watchmen of the nation?” Apostle Sarah Bunjo asked during the prayer seminar. “The church is sleeping. There is something profound that is coming.”

She explained that God is looking for men and women who will stand in the gap and engage in spiritual warfare.

“This is a defining season, those who haven’t yet decided will fall, the one standing will stand for good. This is not a time to fear. We are in the labour ward, the labour pangs are intensifying. All the things like cars, visas and material wealth that made us violate the word of God were nothing for 7 months of lockdown. That was just a small dose to wake us up. We dilute the word of God because we want big congregations,” she said.

2021 General Election

Apostle Sarah Bunjo emphasized that the Church has an essential role to play in the forthcoming general coming election.

“Am not a politician, am here to wake up the church of God. It is so urgent that we stand up and pray. God can stop the bloodshed,” she said, quoting Jeremiah 27:5.

“Put off the excess buggages that can stop us from entering heaven,” she said told listeners. “Let us get back to our positions and cry out to God. Amos 7:1-5. Let us distinguish between what is pure and what is impure.”

“Whenever God warns, he put a provision for grace. A watchman prays the heart of God and stands in the gap. An intercessor doesn’t gossip and speak recklessly. Arise , repent and pray,” she said.
