Church Mass wedding to unite more couples in matrimony

The wedding celebration is aimed at glorifying God and placing righteousness first, the Church says.

Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga is set to preside over a mass wedding of several Christian couples on Saturday, 16th March 2019 at Christian Life Church in Bwaise, a neighborhood within Kampala, Uganda’s capital.

In a statement shared on the ministry Facebook page on Friday, the Church said Pastor Eve Ssenyonga, wife to Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga traveled with her team out of the country to buy new gowns for the brides and new suits for the grooms.

“Glorifying God and placing righteousness first,” the statement read.

The celebration is expected to start as early as 9am. The couples will be accompanied by family members and well wishers.

Pastor Ssenyonga has been leading the church through the popular ‘Praise, Prayer, Power, Prosperity, and Permanent Miracles’ [P5] revival meeting.

Pr Ssenyonga recently told reporters he used to see spiritual breakthrough on a church and community level, “but as we came together in unity in the Body of Christ,” he explained, “we are now seeing breakthrough at a national level.”

This mass wedding comes weeks since Pr Ssenyonga returned from Brazil where he attended, and ministered at a Christian gathering spearheaded by evangelist Marco A. Peixoto, the senior pastor and founder of Comunidade Evangelica Internacional Zona Sul church, located in Flamengo, and its extensions in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Here, the duo challenged the church to make an impact on this generation through a lifestyle that declares that Jesus Christ is the Lord.
