Esther Mboya, Minister of presidency, has wondered why there are more sinners these days, yet churches are many.

She says that in the past, Uganda had relatively fewer churches but people were more faithful and trustworthy than today, where churches are everywhere.

Mboya made these remarks on Sunday during the fundraising ceremony for the construction of a 15-room office block for newly created North-west Ankole diocese, Ibanda district.

She noted that churches in our nation are much less evangelistic than they were in the recent past, adding that church leaders need to consider preaching peace and reconciliation as a way of keeping people united.

“Church leaders should remain independent and focus,” Mboya, who is also the woman MP for luuka district said. “While others go ahead to involve themselves in politics. I advise you to concentrate on building love and tolerance among the faithful.” She said.
