At a meeting attended by over a thousand Church leaders on Saturday, Pr Kayanja said it is time for those that preach the gospel to return back to Jesus.
He said they should run to Christ for there is grace and mercy in the house of God. Pastor Kayanja stated that giving up is not an option for those experiencing pressure, disappointment, discouragement, and fatigue in ministry.
“The investment God has put in you for all these years will not die because of that challenge you are facing. Pastor, don’t throw in the towel. Don’t surrender now. You are chosen by God. Even if you feel you have sinned and are full of shame – and feel like letting go of the ministry , don’t quit.” He said at Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga.
His message comes at a time many Pastors are challenged on how to deal with the slings and arrows that come with leadership.
Pr Kayanja narrated a story of one apostle from Rusia who shared something that taught him a lesson on “focus on the living.”
“He told us of a plane that was about to crush, all engines had caught fire – 75% of plane equipment was nonfunctional. They were all about to crush to death. But the pilot said to them; don’t concentrate on what is nonfunctional, concentrate on the 25% that is working. Let us make sure that we land safely. Pastor, let go of what is died – you will land safely. Concentrate on the anointing upon your life, let other things go. Focus on the living. God is still in heaven,, and you are spirit filled and you are beloved.” He said.
Pr Kayanja urged Pastors to preach about the Kingdom of God, referring them to Acts 1:1-4. He also urged that they should receive instructions from Jesus and make sure they are obeying His commands.
“Following his resurrection, Jesus appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. He did not talk about anything else but the kingdom of God – If you are still alive, God is going to do a miracle. God has brought us from far. Thank God if you started off well, some of us started with nothing but see where we are today – God is alive.
“Run, there is grace and mercy in the house of God – Come back to Jesus, there is still grace, there is still mercy, Jesus is still on the throne. May the Lord restore you. Whether your family is messed up, whether your finances are hanging on a thin thread, don’t give up – The credibility of the gospel is in your comeback again, when you smile again . Don’t run because something happened.
“Acts 1 verse 4: And when they were gathered together, He commanded them: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised. Jesus told them tarry in Jerusalem – until you are filled with the holy ghost. The experience of his power, is what we need.” Pr Kayanja said.
