It’s all too easy to let Christmas pass you by without truly enjoying and appreciating its purpose.

There is a lot happening in the country, and worrying yourself out won’t solve a thing.

Let alone the political and social stress, some of us have the economical stress added to it; big budget, dry wallet.

Don’t let stress overwhelm you to the point where you can’t enjoy the holidays! So what if everything’s not perfect… Let go, relax and take it.

I know, the older we get the more difficult it becomes to rekindle that child-like enthusiasm, to enjoy every step of the season.

Whatever your reason, or whatever your notion of the season might be—a celebration of the birth of Jesus is worth it.

Christmas isn’t just the 25th of December; the day you make everyone else smile and ensure it all goes smoothly. It should be a month’s worth of bringing the mind home from all the year’s stresses, ups and downs, fears, uncertainties and niggles.

Don’t end up living outside of the moment, insecure thinking about what the New Year will bring: will the shilling tumble further against the dollar, will my job be secure, will the kids make their grades, will Grandma make it through another year!

Take a deep breath and enjoy Christmas to its fullest potential. And know this: everything will have a natural way of working itself out in the New Year, Jesus is Lord.

So let it all go, be in the moment, sing to the carols, share love – have a Merry “Mindful” Christmas.
