Although he comes from a deeply Christian background and received a great deal of encouragement growing up, award winning gospel recording artiste Jonas Rayme says he has experienced some highs and lows of life during his salvation journey.

The vocal powerhouse recently released his latest single ‘There for Me,’ and notes that it seeks to speak faith in the life of every listener.

Jonas’ single brings to light the reality of life in which there are times one may experience amazing answers to prayer, encounter one glorious report after another, and see the kingdom of God advancing. On the other hand, there are moments of desert experiences, bereavements, disappointments, failures, temptations, opposition, health issues and exhaustion.
“Sometimes we can’t help but wonder if God really loves us even when we feel unloved and unlovable? Does He love me even when I really mess up?” the singer explains.

“Writing this song, I was thinking about the times I have asked God why? I was thinking of those times I have hurt Him so bad, run away from his presence because of my selfish reasons – and this is not about me alone. I once in a while get sessions with friends where we sit and talk about things, share and encourage one another. It’s from the battles, testimonies they share with me that I got the message and writing,” Jonas, original name Mbaleka Jonathan Raymond Bukenya told this website.

Jonas then quoted 1 Timothy 1:15-16, explaining how God is waiting to show us His mercy and do nothing less than change our lives.

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason He displayed his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life,”

He said he commenced this project while preparing for the frequently held Praise City gathering hosted by musician Sami K.
