Gospel music singer Robinsan.

At his lowest point, Robinsan took drugs every day hopping that he would feel better.

Having battled all sorts of abusive substances and spent several nights in city clubs, the gospel singer says the past few years have been a season of healing, reclamation and witnessing God move him from one level to another.

Robinsan, real name, Tumuhairwe Robert, will on May 6th 2017 launch a 10-track gospel album at Garden City Food court, Kampala.

In an exclusive interview, he has told UG Christian News that somewhere during his musical journey, he grew discouraged and disappointed when he failed to make returns after several investments.

Although brought up from a christian home, he soon left church for night clubs, abused drugs that almost killed him. Thankfully, God’s grace drew him back as he grew to know Christ at a personal level.

After the grueling recovery process, the gospel musician is out sharing his story through music.

Naming this concert “Next Level” did not just happen.

“Why I chose this particular title is because it has been that season where I have seen God move me from one level to another, not only in my music but every area of my life.” He said. “I prayed and the spirit of God led me to this name, ‘Next Level’.”

When he started out as a singer, Robinsan was not signed to any Record Label – this happened much later in his career.

In 2006, he released ‘Tusabe’, which became a hit song on several radios in Uganda, and on Holy Spins radio in the USA

He also performed on riddims/instrumentals of artists like Papa San who is one of the icons that inspire him to date.

In 2012 Robinsan was nominated as Best Dancehall Artiste of the year by Olive gospel music awards Uganda and was recently announced HIT Awards 2015 Artist of the Year.

He is the C.E.O and founder of ‘Vision Plug’, an organization that helps young and up coming gospel musicians in Uganda.

The yet-to-be launched album includes songs; Simple life, Jangu Nkulage, I know, I know remix, Tuli Kumulamwa, Always on time, In control, Nayimba, Counting My Blessings and Ntukula.

“It’s a concert of its kind. I have prayed and thought God for this day and I believe the power of God is going to move like never before. Me and my band are ready to give out the best.” He told this website, emphasizing that on this particular concert, God is going to show himself to people in a unique way.

Entry to the 5pm event is 20,000/= for a Gold Ticket and 50,000/= for a Platinum Ticket.
