Pure Flix has released a full six-minute trailer for “God’s Not Dead 2” ahead of the release date on Apr. 1, 2016 across the US.

This second movie revolves around the character of Grace, played by Melissa Joan Hart, a high school teacher who gets in legal trouble after she gives an honest answer to a question about Jesus Christ in the classroom.

Meanwhile, the Christian band Newboys has contributed a track called “Guilty” to the official soundtrack of “God’s Not Dead 2.” They will also have a cameo in the flick after making their debut in the original film.

Michael Tait, Newsboys front man, said that to media that “Guilty” aims to release a powerful message to the youth of today.

“‘Guilty’ is a song for all Christians, as we seek to honor God each day in every way, no matter the cost,” he said. “We pray it will help encourage and empower Believers-in our country and around the world-to live boldly for Him.”

With all the excitement, Some critics have suggested the movie is “misleading and full of fake Christian persecution.”

Pure Flix Entertainment founder David A.R. White is however choosing to focus on the positive impact of the original “God’s Not Dead”, which raked in over $100 million in the box office.

In an interview with The Blaze, he addressed negative feedback about the new movie and said simply: “It’s an interesting thing, because, if it wasn’t real, why do they get so offended by it. I don’t think it would annoy people if it wasn’t true.”

“God’s Not Dead” stars Melissa Joan Hart, Jesse Metcalf, Robin Givens, Pat Boone, Ernie Hudson, Sadie Robertson, David A.R. White, Maria Canals-Barrera, Hayley Orrantia, and the late Fred Thompson.
