I purposed not to marry a non-christian, Justice Bamugemereire says

Justice Catherine Bamugemereire hinted on several crucial issues about christianity during the annual International Innerman Women's Conference

Hon. Lady Justice Catherine N. Bamugemereire while addressing born-again Christian women about parenthood issues and prayer said she asked God for the “right spouse”, and purposed in her heart never to marry a non Christian.

This was during the annual International Innerman Women’s Conference organized by Apostle Stephen Senfuma in Kasubi on 8th March, 2019.

“The Lord brought my husband. He was also a Christian – We met soon after he left university, and became just friends – and then, the rest is history,” she said.

Justice Bamugemereire, who is currently the chairperson of the commission investigating land conflicts around the country, used her speech at the conference to open up about her personal relationship with Jesus Christ

“I became a born-again Christian in the first term of my senior two in High school. I spent my senior one figuring out what Christians are. I would question, and probe. In senior two, I made up my mind,” she said.

“The Lord has been gracious to me – I have walked with Him since. It hasn’t always been easy, but the Lord has always been with me from Childhood,” she explained.

On biblical King Solomon asking God for nothing else but wisdom in 1 Kings 3, Justice Bamugemereire said when Christians pray rightly before God, He gives “exceedingly, abundantly and above what we ever think of.”

“When you ask the right prayer, God answers you abundantly,” she said. “It gives me honor to serve my country. I only pray for favor to continue serving.”

“One of the reasons the President picked someone like me is that I am not very hungry for property. I am not thirsty for money. I am thirsty for doing a good job,” the wife to George Bamugemereire said.

She cautioned that many believers are not aware of their limitations and need for God.

“If you are not self aware you will make big mistakes. You need to take time, and always listen to yourself, understand who you are,” the 49-year-old said.

Just recently, the married mother of two children received recognition for her many achievements, with Dr Joseph Serwadda unveiling her among 5 individuals who have influenced and fought among others corruption in Uganda.

“The commission of inquiry, land administration and registration in Uganda has been a game changer in the affairs of this nation. The proceedings of the commission have rallied the entire nation around the issue of land in a manner never experienced before,” Dr Serwadda said at Namboole national stadium on 31st Decemeber, 2018.

“Many people who have come to that commission have left laughing when they came in crying. There is alot to speak about but the accolade itself names it. His excellency the President found a good committee and good chairman that fitted very well,” he added.
