The media is without-a-doubt one of the most powerful and influential voices in our country today.
For various key stakeholders, Journalism used to be a matter of reporting the facts and, where there was controversy, presenting both sides of the story.
Unfortunately, that is no longer the case, some say.
Intercessor for Uganda, an interdenominational network of members of the Body of Christ is asking the Lord to provide the media with staff members and executives who are committed to accuracy and integrity.
The organisation issued a prayer guide on 27 July, 2020 urging prayer warriors to uproot and destroy among others publication of lies, motivated by bribe with intent to manipulate people.
Here are some of the prayer guide highlights:
- Let us praise God for the anointing He has put on the Christian leaders, men and women who are called to the office the Evangelist to preach the good news through media. Media owners who own, Christians Television and have advanced the kingdom of God through media.
- Let us praise God for the leaders in our country right from His Excellency the president who has continued to allow the freedom of preaching of the gospel through media, the leadership in UCC who regulate.
Greed and Discontent:
This is an insatiable spirit that causes these two vices which work hand in hand and lead to corruption, misuse of funds, bribery and so on. Leaders and those they lead are not content with what they are and what they have. They do not consider themselves to be Stewards of God’s resources nor Shepherds of the people they lead. Those who get money and advance evil agenda like homosexuality.
- Attack and uproot the wickedness of Greed and Discontent. Uproot and tear down the spirit behind wicked alters of influencers who promote immorality in society.
- Split apart satanic alters and destroy them. 1 Kings 13:2,3.
- Destroy by the blood of Jesus, erase the wicked ideas from the minds of those on television media and film industry with only bad news, terrifying news.
- Attack and uproot the spirit of tribalism, nepotism in Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
- Uproot and overthrow corruption in the leadership in the ministry of ICT, Public service, UCC and other related sectors. Cast out the spirit of mammon in the sector.
- Renounce and denounce and bring to end the various forms of wickedness, pornography, witchcraft and bloodshed in institutions on the mountain of media.
- Renounce and denounce the spirits of disobedience, insubordination, job insecurity, godlessness, laziness, disunity, indifference and Social Media addiction in the sector.
- Uproot and destroy telling lies motivated by bribes with intent to manipulate people and drive our selfish agendas.
- Destroy outlets and powers behind individuals we see carrying bad Apollyon anointing. Casting down the principality in these strongholds.
This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand, Spirit of Goliath which brings bad news, terrifying news.
- Denounce and stop the agenda of Satan on children, young generation and families through media. Also denounce the spirit of Kristina’s: the god of Indians which is rampant in many soaps.
Plant Great Leaders In Media:
- Anointed and visionary leaders who will dream dreams and who will see new visions in the sector. Joel 2:28-29
b. New strategies and innovations among leaders in this sector
c. True Leadership in Multichoice, Zuku, Startimes who will control good content and good news.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things. (Isaiah 52:7)
- Using media for genuine cause, like education, development preach the gospel.
Philippians 4:8 – “What things are true, whatever things are just , whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praise worthy – meditate on these things.”
Isaiah 40:9 – “O, Zion, you who bring good tidings, Get up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, You who bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength.”
- New breed of evangelists (leaders in the marketplace) to take this mountain of media.
Matthew 24: 45 – “A faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns.”
Exodus 18:21 “But select capable men from all the people—men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain – and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens.”
