Is the Church non-essential?

Pastor Umar Mulinde comments on whether the Church must be seen as 'non-essential'.

Prayer is not the only reason why Churches exist. To a certain extent, we can pray from our homes, but we learn to pray and reinforce our prayer capability from the Church.

However, Church is not only about prayer but about gathering believers to offer united praise and worship to their God. Similarly, Church is not an event but a family of believers, of which becoming a Christian means being adopted into God’s family as a Child of God and brother or sister to fellow believers – Romans 8:16-17

Additionally, Church is a spiritual referral hospital (James 5:14). Church is the spiritual central Bank of blessings (Exodus 23:25). Church is the spiritual transforming Police (Ephesians 2:1-5). Church is a spiritual army barracks (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). Church is spiritual heavenly representative assembly – Parliament (Matthew 18: 20, Acts 2:42, Hebrews 10:25, 1 Corinthians 11:18, 14:23, 14:27, 2 Chronicles 29:28).

Even when all the so called worldly scientific essential services fail, the Church maintains playing important roles providing all those services, including strengthening souls, accouraging and restoring hope to all the scared.… and more!

Therefore, the true Church of Jesus Christ is not non-essential but very essential!

For those Pastors who are lukewarm regarding this matter, aren’t you the ones who kept preaching that Jesus saves and heals? Where you lying?

We need to understand that we live in seasons and times where there is a rising of too much hatred against Churches and God’s people, to the extent that at any given opportune moment, ungodly forces are on standby to undermine divine activities, but our duty as men and women of God is in 1 Peter 5:7 and James 4:7, we are told to resist the devil….

Remember Covid-19 came from China, yet China is not only racists against black people, but also atheists, burning Churches, hating, imprisoning, and even torturing their own Chinese natives attempting to become Christians!

Officially, the Chinese Communist Party is atheist with cruel laws of persecution and restrictions on the practice of the Christian faith.

In view of the above, we need to make sure that China or any other force, is not negatively influencing our country in an attempt to dismiss the significant role Churches are playing in the lives of millions of people!

We pray for Uganda to be safe, free from such pandemics, but in the event that we happen to face anything of this nature in the future, government need to know that regarding terrible matters, the Church is more of a solution than a problem.

Jesus healed many who had incurable diseases!

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
