Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Bieber who recently committed to following Christ is reportedly being counseled by Hillsong Church, and is looking at taking a step back from “bad influences.”

It came as a shock this week when he unfollowed long time friend and professional boxer, Floyd Mayweather on Instagram.

CBN reports that he [Bieber] is facing backlash from the undefeated five-division world champion professional boxer who is scheduled for a match later this month.

Loyd reportedly went “insane, nuclear.” He lashed out at Bieber, called him a “traitor” because he had stuck with him during his meltdown.

TMZ says that Bieber chose to distance himself from Mayweather on social media to avoid the constant stream of lewd images on Mayweather’s Instagram page.

The website adds that Bieber didn’t single out Floyd in this category alone but wanted to create the distance due to Floyd’s reported obsession with strip clubs.

Bieber has been more vocal about his relationship with Christ in recent years, according to CBN.

In a tell-all interview with Complex Magazine in 2015, he shared that Jesus was his salvation in the midst of trouble and he wants to live like Jesus.

“He created a pretty awesome template of how to love people and how to be gracious and kind. If you believe it, He died for our sins,” Bieber said.”We have the greatest healer of all and His name is Jesus Christ. And He really heals.”
