Residents of Luwero district, central Uganda might soon witness demolish of a church structure which a pastor constructed around a widow’s house.

The Security committee of this district has resolved to close the Church belonging to Power Cathedral Deliverance Ministries asserting that it was constructed on land that does not belong to this ministry.

Well established around a two-room house belonging to a 60-year-old Paulina Nampa, Church founder, Pastor Steven Yiga told state aided newspaper, New Vision that he bought the land from the widow in a sh18m deal, but she denies having been paid.

Nampa said she was tricked into signing a sales agreement, but she did not receive the money, the source says.

Two of the district pastors addressed media regarding the conflict: Pastor Daniel Sajjabi told New Vision “he had tried to arbitrate, but Nampa brushed him off, accusing him of siding with his fellow pastor. ”

Pastor Samson Kalwanyi, the chairperson of the Born Again pastors in Luwero, said Yiga’s church has never been registered.

Pastor Steven Yiga is quoted to have said the sale was witnessed by tthe Luwero-based advocate, Asaph Tumubwine on November 4, 2014. However, when contacted, Tumubwine told the source he never saw any money being paid to Nampa.
