Yesterday [Sunday, May 1, 2016],  Pastor Imelda Namutebi, founder of Liberty Worship Centre International, together with the Church and leadership fraternity marked two year since the inauguration of a mega church facility seated on a 17-acre piece of land.

May 2014, Pastor Imelda Namutebi unveiled the over sh6b facility, built with no foreign assistance but by the congregation.  It was commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni.

“My papa Pr Robert Kayanja has made it clear that you have to be like Christ because you have his Mind and that’s what I am.The Christ in me has made me, my family and my partners to achieve such tremendous success yet more is still to come,” she said through the church’s official social media platform during the inaugurations.

“I planned the structure myself, and then sought the architectures’ approval and after that we started. We didn’t have money, but people would donate. Someone would say ‘I am donating forty bags of cement. Another would say, ‘I am donating all the doors.’ So this you are seeing is a success story of everyone,” Pr Namutebi said during the inauguration back in 2014.

Pastor Namutebi’s salvation journey started in 1986. That’s when she joined Kayanja’s Rubaga Miracle Centre, then in Kabusu, another Kampala suburb. She was a helper at the Kayanjas. Between 1990 and 1993, she started moving door to door, practicing what she had been taught, preaching the word of God.

Through fellowships, she partnered with Pastor Isaac Kiwewesi to start the Kansanga Miracle Centre. In 1998, Namutebi parted ways with Kiwewesi and started Liberty Worship Centre in Mengo.
