Maintain focus in tough times – Pr Musiime

Edwin Musiime urges Christians not to fear the 'valley experience'

Media personality and Pastor Edwin Musiime has encouraged Christians not to let distractions and challenges in life keep them from pursing their God-given vision.

Speaking during a Facebook live broadcast recently, Pastor Musiime acknowledged the importance of a renewed mindset, adding that one’s boldness and confidence in the face of hardship is driven by the ability to trust God and let go of the negative labels that often hold many people back.

“We all need to embrace the Lion king mindset,” the preacher said, adding that Christians must remain focused and maintain a right course.

“Every time you begin to worry, you distract yourself from the big picture – you distract yourself from where you are supposed to be going. One of the characteristics of a lion that makes it distinguished is focus,” he said.

Pastor Edwin Musiime urged that where others see impenetrable barriers, Christians should see opportunities to overcome.

“Sometimes life is gonna throw at you some tough blows, but you got to have a tough skin. You got to get to a place of growing your emotional stability, and know that ‘I don’t care what is thrown at me, I’m going to use it back as a weapon,'” he said.

“When people speak rubbish about you, learn to ignore them. The lion does not lose sleep over the opinion of sheep. It is not arrogance. It is not pride, but the lion is preoccupied with being king of the jungle, unless he gets destructed and be dethroned,” he said.

Musiime noted that there are significantly two animals that God associates with theologically in the Bible. The first animal is the lion. The second animal is the eagle.

He quoted Proverbs 30:29-30 which says, “there are three things that are stately in their stride, four that move with stately bearing: a lion, mighty among beasts, who retreats before nothing.”

“God has designed to you to carry a fearless spirit like the lion. The lion is not the fastest or loudest, but it is declared and called the king of the jungle. Daniel 6:3 says, ‘now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.'” he said

“It is not the people around you that label you a lion. It is your qualities, your habits, your results that elevate you to the status of a lion,” he continued. “When the lion shows up in an industry, it shakes the industry. when a lion shows up in a company, it shakes up the company, because it carries with it a dignified presence of authority and dominion.”

“A lion only roars when necessary. But most of the time, its actions speak louder than its words. Learn to talk less, let your actions and results speak,” he added.

Just as great people help you to reach your full potential, Pastor Musiime observed that toxic people drag you right down with them.

“Don’t let those [negative] labels define you. You are not those labels. You alone have the legal right and license to define yourself and decide your destiny. Your destiny is not in the hands of any man. Your destiny is in the hands of the Almighty God,” he said.

“Begin to see 2020 as a year in which you’re going to flourish. A year in which you’re going to be productive, a year in which you are laying strategy to win, a year in which you’re going to be profitable more than ever before. A year in which you’re not going to procrastinate over that business idea or dream,” he said.
