A Medical doctor and family members of detained founder of the Watchman Ministries, Joseph Kabuleta have been denied access to the preacher.

In a statement released on Sunday, Watchman Ministries administrators stated that officials from the Special Investigations Division had prior agreed to let Mr Joseph Kabuleta’s spouse, Rebecca Kabuleta and his medical doctor see him twice a day for the time he will be held in their custody.

When they went to see him on Sunday morning and later in the evening, they were denied access saying that they had received “new instructions from their bosses.”

Attempts by the lead counsel on the case, Mr Daniel Walyemera to contact the bosses were futile, the statement read.

“We cannot ascertain his whereabouts, safety and well being of Mr Joseph Kabuleta. It is possible that he is not at those premises any more or might be in a critical medical condition ,” the ministry administrators stated.

Adding: “It is absurd and rather inhumane that the authorities at SID have denied Joseph Kabuleta access to his medical team in disregard of constitutional rights to access medical care,”

As Uganda Christian News reported, Joseph Kabuleta was arrested 12 July at Lugogo in Kampala and bundled into a waiting Toyota Wish, reg no. UBB 459D, as he prepared for his weekly Watchman Fellowship held at UMA Upper Gardens.

Police said the arrest was due to social media posts “Joseph Kabuleta Weekly Rant returns,” in which he referred to the Fountain of Honor  (President Yoweri Museveni) as “a Gambler, Thief and Liar”.

Meanwhile, the Daily Monitor reported earlier that Mr Daniel Walyemera, lawyer representing Joseph Kabuleta, was also denied access to his jailed client.
