Buikwe district woman Member of Parliament, Judith Babirye has urged parents in her constituency  to desist from practices of child sacrifice as a way of wealth accumulation.

He has condemned the habit saying that no parent should for any reasons get go of their child for the sake of getting money.

Babirye said this while attending a mass sensitization drive held at Ngogwe municipality,Buikwe District on Friday. According to one state linked news daily, this drive was intended to equip parents and Children with knowledge on how they can avoid becoming victims of human sacrifice.

She noted that many have spilled blood of innocent children when promised money which they sometimes don’t get. Babirye told parents to continuously hold such talks with their children as a way of keeping them safe from the brutal act.

She later handed out basins and jerrycans to parents.

Aside child sacrifice, the politician who also doubles as a gospel minister, was in March seen joined hundreds of women in a match to create awareness of fast rising teenage pregnancies in Uganda.

Babirye advocated for the return of children who were once victim of early pregnancies back to school, urging that they still have a brighter future ahead, despite what happened in the past.
