Former Leader of Opposition in Parliament, and also Kasese woman MP, Winnie Kiiza has said there’s nothing strong like a woman, mother and wife that prays.

The 46-year-old on Saturday came out to address controversies surrounding Pastor Aloysius Bujjingo’s marriage. The House of Prayer Ministries vision bearer in May filed a divorce petition in court seeking to dissolve his 29-year-old marriage with wife Teddy Naluswa.

In the petition before Chief Magistrate’s Court in Entebbe, Bujjingo said due the “cruel nature” and “incompatible impulsive conduct” of Ms Naluswa, their marriage has “irretrievably broken down.”

Mrs Naluswa on the other hand denied him divorce.

Bujjingo used the pulpit to further address his marital issues, a move Church leaders have till this day criticized.

“The publicly made attacks against Mrs.Teddy Bujjingo over matters any reasonable person considers private are not only ugly but disrespectful of a woman, a mother, and a wife,” Winnie Kiiza said.

“It’s lowest of the lows for anybody to treat a mother of his children with disrespect, however complex the situation may be. I applaud Mrs.Teddy for not allowing provocation.

“She has not fought back; a conduct that explains love and respect for the father of her children, however hostile the environment may be. She is not dumb but silent, hoping that the father of her children grows,” Winnie Kiiza said.

Meanwhile, the politician’s remarks come days since Pastor Bujjingo made claims that there are ‘incompatible couples’ that come into the marriage institution without approval from God.

“There are people [you marry] and yet they came with a particular target. Whatever you buy, they count it, and before long, they call for the division of property,” Pastor Bujjingo said earlier this week.

“I believe in marriage, and I don’t believe in divorce. Divorce is evil. Why would you divorce in the first place? The world thought that I am a false preacher who is now going to preach divorce, because I am divorced,” he added.

Mr. Bujjingo married Teddy Naluswa at Victory Christian Centre Church – Nddeba 29 years ago. The couple has four children: – Doreen Gift Bujjingo, 27; Winnie Treasure Bujjingo, 22, Jennifer Blessed Bujjingo, 19 and Isaac Miracle Bujjingo.
