Martin Okoth Ochola, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has urged Ugandans to strictly observe all the set Covid-19 guidelines as they celebrate Easter.

Ochola explained in a release on Saturday that “criminal elements take advantage of such holidays to intensify their unlawful, criminal acts.”

“Operations against all persons found to be flouting the Covid-19 health and safety protocols are still on. We argue you all to be mindful of the threats of COVID-19 and to stay safe,” he said.

As part of the enforcement, IGP Ochola noted that collaborative efforts with sister Security Agencies have been heightened, with increased visibility across the country.

This is intended to counter all forms of threats and vulnerabilities, he said.

“I would like to express deep gratitude to the public for their continuous and invaluable support as we pursue and strive for a safer, peaceful country,” he added.
