Pastors urged to preach the Word of God in its fullness

'Faithful stewards of God's Word teach the Word in its fullness.'

Dr. John W. Mulinde together with Apostle Stephen Senfuma are encouraging Pastors in Uganda to be faithful stewards of God’s Word by reading and teaching all scripture passages in their fullness.

Speak during a live broadcast this week, the duo raised concern over preachers who ‘sugar coat the truth’ to avoid hurting a person’s feelings or only teach what people want to hear.

They explained that some preachers today have figured out what ‘sells’ and have determined to offer a steady menu of that to their congregations.

“It is quite perilous to only preach portions of scripture that we find pleasant, and ignore the rest,” Apostle Stephen Senfuma, the vision bearer of Innerman Ministries started.

“Receiving the truth in its fullness, including that which you find bitter, shields us from fear of the unexpected,” he added.

He cautioned against keeping the flock ignorant of the very messages uttered by the Chief-Shepherd, Jesus, whether that be from the pulpit, in small groups, or in one–on–one situations.

Apostle Senfuma quoted John 8:31-32.

The passage reads, “So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

He also quoted Exodus 12: 8: “That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast.”

“Had we been taught the truth it its fullness, whatever is happening in the world would not have pushed us into panic and terror. I am hurt that it is happening (referring to coronavirus pandemic), and I am obeying the guidelines issued by government, which include washing hands, avoiding handshakes and hugs, but in my heart I am not terrified, because at the back of my mind I know, worse events will happen. The bible highlighted them,” he said.

“If the entire world is trembling over what is happening, the Bible does not expect a believer in Christ to equally be in such a state,” he added.

In his submission, Dr. Mulinde who is the founder and global overseer of World Trumpet Mission addressed some of the signs of the end-time, as revealed by Jesus, noting that some Churches have never heard about them.

“Some Churches say those are ‘terrifying verses’ believers do not need to hear them,” Apostle Senfuma wondered.

Christians across the globe are wondering if the coronavirus pandemic is one of the pestilences/plagues of the end times, mentioned in the bible. Others are also pointing at the current locust plague and the Australian wildfires which are still being contained in some areas.

Dr. Mulinde stated that amid the chaos, God speaks. “If we humble ourselves, and let God speak, will we hear His voice,” he said.

He quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Dr. Mulinde urged that Christians need to examine their lives, turn away from sin, and be faithful to the gospel.
