Pastor Isaac Kyobe Kiwewesi, the senior pastor of Kasanga Miracle Centre, together with his wife Barbra Sasha Kiwewesi on Tuesday hosted thanksgiving celebrations under theme: “I am the one.”

The event was graced by several influential Christian leaders, government and cultural leaders including Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral – Rubaga, Apostle John Bungo of Christian Restoration Ministries International, Apostle Michael Kimuli of Christian Discipleship Ministries International, Rev. Jerome A. Barber of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple, Prof Simeon Kayiwa of Namirembe Christian Fellowship, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Dr. Monica Musenero, and Buganda Prince Daudi Kintu Wasajja among others.

In his submission, Pastor Isaac Kyobe Kiwewesi commended Pastor Robert Kayanja for the ongoing ‘Karamoja Cry’ charity campaign and made a generous contribution towards the same.

The first phase of the project began in late July, and has since seen multitudes of families affected by famine in the north-eastern part of Uganda receive relief food among other essential supplies.

Pastor Kyobe urged that he was deeply grateful to God that during a season of great difficulties, the ministry was able to construct the Gilgal center, focusing on Children’s ministry, and that they also have intentions of kicking-off construction of a medical facility in the area.

“What we see today is a miracle,” Pastor Robert Kayanja said as he recounted Pastor Kyobe’s early years in ministry, right from a make-shift ‘kiwempe’ structure.

Pastor Kayanja thanked God for the freedom of worship in Uganda. Recounting the history of the born-again Church in Uganda, Mr Kayanja said there were only about 7000 pentecostal believers in the early 80’s and no established pentecostal churches. During the same time, he said Uganda’s then president was under pressure from the existing religious bodies to ban the pentecostal faith.

“We had nothing. All we had was Jesus,” he said.

“Without the freedom of worship, we would not be here,” he said. “Possibly this land would be occupied by a bar.”
