The police are mourning the death of regional Fire Officer Moses Masaba that occurred yesterday.

Masaba had been admitted to St Mary’s Hospital Lacor, commonly referred to as Lacor Hospital, in Gulu District, Northern Uganda.

He was in grave condition, following gunshot injuries he sustained Sunday night during the Gulu Attacks.

“We have lost ASP Masaba Moses. He succumbed to gunshot injuries sustained last night during the Gulu Attacks‬,” Uganda Police Force stated.

They further stated that the fallen hero was the Senior Duty Officer on the night of ‪Attacks.

To several departmental authorities of police, his death is a great loss as he was dedicated and highly respected in the police circles.

Renowned lawyer and activist Brian Kalenge, took to social media his condolence saying, “Fare thee well. May your sacrifice to your motherland be eternally rewarded,”

According to media reports, the Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura, said the primary motive of the Sunday attackers on Gulu Central Police Station (CPS) was to rescue an Opposition politician who had been locked up last week.
