Known for ‘fervent’ sermons pointing at the injustice allegedly committed by the ruling government, Pr David Ngabo has used this photo to call upon Ugandans within and outside the county to stand against abusive arrests by police.

He has used this image to emphasize that such ” arrests are against the human rights.”

“With God on our side, we shall win this abusive regime.” He further wrote, through a post shared with his followers on social media on Monday.

Pr Ngabo is one of a few religious leaders who have from the recent past championed and publically expressed their support to the leading opposition party, Forum of Democratic Change (FDC).

For what the state government termed as treason, David Ngabo said that the swearing in of “The People’s President Dr. Kizza Besigye”, as he often refers to him, was heroic and “enabled by God”.

The pastor’s outcry follows Besigye’s arrest today at his home in Kasangati, Wakiso District.

The opposition leader exchanged words with the officers who tried to stop him from removing the police barricades at the entry to his home.
