Sheikh Nuhu Muzaata says he admires Aloysius Bujjingo, and insists that the House of Prayer Ministries International lead Pastor daily shares words of wisdom that have transformed lives in Uganda.

In what many called a show of solidarity, the Muslim leader on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Pastor Bujjingo to congratulate him upon being recognized as the “Most Admired, Inspirational and Influential Born Again Faith Leader” in Uganda.

“Those who handed us the award told us its because we have changed the mindset of those who are under privileged, both youth and women,” Pr Bujjingo told Sheikh Muzaata.

“Thank you for coming to congratulate me,” he added. “We believe this is our generation and we are causing transformation.”

On his part, Sheikh Muzaata who is the public relations officer of Kibuli Muslim Sect said he is happy about his association with the Pastor, and that he listens to his messages.

“I have always head the words of wisdom that come from you all the time, God is good, he has enabled me to come here today – considering that you are one of my people that I have admired for a long time,” Muzaata said.

“You fully deserved the award,” he added. “The Muslim community could easily have done the same to award you.”

Earlier this month (14 October), Pr. Aloysius Bujjingo was awarded by Public Opinions and East Africa Book of Records as the “Most Admired, Inspirational and Influential Born Again Faith Leader” in Uganda.

The award was presented by Mr Luzindana Adam Buyinza, the team Leader of Public Opinions and Dr Paul Bamutaaze President, East Africa Book of Records.

“He is an inspiration to the underprivileged youth and women in Uganda. His pastoral work is a great contribution to the attainment of Uganda vision 2040 and the United Nations Sustainable development goals,” they said.

Award drew mixed reactions

When awarded, part of the general public refuted claims that the church leader is indeed admired. This, many contended, is partly due to some of his controversial teachings, unending marriage woes, and remarks on women that prompted a section of activists to launch a protest against him earlier this year.

Uganda Christian News contacted East Africa Book Of Records to among other things seek clarity about how the organisation collects its data or how they reach the public to submit nominations.

The inquiry was never responded to, till this day.
