Telecom giant pledges support to end of year prayer festivals

'There's no better to end the year than spending it with God.'

Telecom giant MTN Group Ltd has announced that it will sponsor end of year thanksgiving prayer festivals in the country.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, MTN Regional Marketing Co-ordinator, Mr. Jimmy Ssempuuma said the company will support various churches in organizing the thanksgiving prayer nights he said have now become a permanent fixture on the country’s festive season calendar

“MTN has pledged to support a number of church congregations in preparations for the 2019 into 2020 cross over prayers,” he said.

The supported churches include; Kiwamirembe new year prayer celebrations, Bishop Kiganda’s end of year celebrations at Old Kampala play field, Pastor Bugembe’s new year celebrations in Nansana and the Passover celebrations at Namboole Stadium, by Apostle Joseph Serwadda. 

On his part, gospel musician and lead Pastor of the Worship House in Nansana, Wilson Bugembe, said: “I want to thank MTN for coming out to support God’s work and i’m also grateful MTN supported my concert in and has extended the support to my end of year celebrations in Nansana.

“There’s no better to end the year than spending it with God. It was our prayer that corporate companies come to our support us and i’m grateful MTN has done just that. I want to use this chance to also invite all Ugandans to come and celebrate with us.” Pastor David Kiganda

Mr. Micheal respresenting the Director of Kiwamirembe Catholic Shrine, Fr. Edward Kabanda thanked MTN for the support we’ve given this year and appreciated the efforts MTN has offered the last five plus years. It matters a lot how we start the year.
