News reaching our desk indicates that popular journalist Frank Walusimbi narrowly survived the worst after being attacked by robbers at the gate to his home.

The Luganda news anchor at NTV Uganda and Presenter on Christian radio station Impact 98.4 FM took to social media Thursday revealing that he lost his phones and other items to thugs who attacked him on Wednesday night.

“Thank God I am safe. Will get back on air soon. Blessings.” He stated, sending out an open note to those who lost contact with him.

Brought up from a Catholic family, Walusimbi revealed a while back that he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

He is one of Uganda’s favorite known for being gentle, bold yet soft spoken. Walusimbi has anchored news, most often in Luganda for the past ten years.

His masterly of Luganda has made popular news broadcasted on NTV every evening, and Tuwaye, a talk show where he sits on a bench with interviewees.

His career grew stronger when he accepted an invitation by Dr Sserwada to join staff at Impact 98.4 FM.

“The proprietor is a friend of mine, Dr Sserwada.” Walusimbi said in an interview. “He called me and I was like; why note? Why seat at home when there is an opportunity here. I like it. I really love hearing people air out their views.”
