Close friends, relatives and fans of late Christian rapper, Hillary Luuka, generally known by his middle name New Testament took to social media celebrating his legacy on Sunday.

New Testament, voice of 2015 hit singles Virtuous Woman, Zoe, Redeemed, Musaalaba (The Cross) was knocked down by a Police Patrol car on 12th February, 2016 in Bwaise, a neighborhood within Kampala, Uganda’s capital.

The singer died hours latter when rushed to hospital. Medics from Mulago referral hospital reported saying that he died following brain contusion, a bruise of the brain tissue.

“Great soul, great legacy and great music that will live on for ages,” said Grace Anyait Mudodo, when the singer’s home fellowship group, Phaneroo, paid tribute to him on Sunday.

“Your legacy lives on; the word rich songs echo in our spirits with each rising and setting of the sun reminding us who we are in God; the sermons you preached and the miracles you performed are etched not just on the walls of history but the walls of eternity. You always will shine among the greatest; a true general of the faith. we continue to miss you.” Phaneroo said.

Kemigisha Mercy said, “New Testament, my life changed because you ministered to me through your songs and you are still doing so. Rest In Peace.”

Jero Okullu said, “oh man of God, you impacted me and still are.”

“My friend New testament, a fellow gospel minister from Phaneroo, you have gone too soon that it hurts so much in my heart. May our Lord Jesus Christ comfort your family, your fans; comfort all friends and pastors,” stated artiste Jackie Senyonjo last year on the singer’s passing.

“Your songs were a substance that was unusual and life to many.” Pr Brian Lubega added.

“When I looked at the music industry, there was something lacking because if there is a person with a disability seated on a wheelchair and he does not get out of the wheelchair and then I am singing, if the lame person does not get up walk, then I am doing inspirational not gospel music, because, imagine if Christ was rapping; what could happen?” Prolific artist in the gospel industry New Testament explained during one media interview.
