KAMPALA – Pastor Gerald Rovis Masinde and his wife Veronica Masinde are set to gather women from all walks of life this Saturday, 24th August, 2019 at Bethel Covenant Connection in Kireka, along Namugongo road for a conference aimed at awakening and equipping the “Deborah Generation.”

During an exclusive interview with Uganda Christian News on Wednesday, Pastor Veronica revealed what the free to attend conference expected to start 10:00 AM (EAT) is about, and what you should expect.

What inspired the start of the conference?

Pastor Veronica: The Lord spoke to us to create a platform for women. The Lord intentionally touched my heart for women and for Deborahs to be raised up. I then shared with my husband and pastor who has always supported my dreams.

Has it happened before, or this is the inaugural?

Pastor Veronica: This is the inaugural and we intend to hold this annually.

What will be the theme for this edition?

Pastor Veronica : Arise now and take your place. Taken from Isaiah 60:1

You speak of the ‘Deborah Generation’; kindly throw light on what it means?

Pastor Veronica: Deborah was an incredible woman of faith in her day. She was a judge, prophet, valiant warrior, governmental leader, all in one package. She knew God’s timing and nature to deliver His people from oppression, and received God’s wisdom and strategy to bring victory to her nation. The Deborahs of God are arising! They are mounting up together to ride and say, “We will feed the poor, take care of the orphans, preach the gospel, help eradicate poverty, and free slaves and those bound in prostitution! We will have a voice in our nations.”

That’s powerful. Who are the expected speakers, and what can you say about them?

Pastor Veronica : Our Guest Speaker is Pastor Sarah Luyima Sseggane whose life is a demonstration of Gods unlimited grace to turn stories and bring glory, beauty out of what may be regarded as ash. The story of her life in her book beauty out of cracks reveals a totally sold out and yielded vessel who embraces the refiner’s work, bold and courageous to share their life’s experience to deliver the timid and coward. (None other than Jehovah God the refiner ) is able to use the worst and bring out the best for His glory.

Pastor Catherine Mirembe is a mother by the call of God who has a passion for women and God has used her to champion women of all walks of life and mother them in their God given mandate.

In the church today, there are some who question the place that women have. What is your comment on this matter, in relation the upcoming conference?

Pastor Veronica: The first instance of spiritual warfare recorded in the Bible is an encounter between a woman and the devil–and on the heels of that ill-fated meeting, God decreed that the woman and her offspring would oppose the evil one forever. It’s time to take back our stolen identities and realize we were created for dominion in the very image of God.

As women become full participating members of the body of Christ, the devil trembles in fear as he watches the Church: the second Eve, rise to your calling and destiny. The enemy has worked for thousands of years to oppress women, keeping them shrouded in false identity and shame.
This is the moment for women to be restored.

Amen to that! Anything else you would like the readers to know?

Pastor Veronica: In our desire to make a difference as women, we must learn to speak God’s voice against the forces of darkness and claim the promises from God’s Word in the face of impossibility. When we believe, nothing is impossible to us. No demon can stand before us. Isaiah 30: 31 says: “For through the voice of the Lord shall the Assyrian be beaten down.” In other words, when we prophesy God’s Word or release God’s voice, every enemy is beaten down and utterly defeated. Woman Arise and Take your Place!
