Uphold our land, O Lord

For God And My Country: A plea for Uganda.

By Pastor Ben Ochola

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land [ 2 Chronicles 7:14]

Father God, you save by few. This is nothing to you. You paid a high price for this nation, for Uganda.

This (day) we commit the soul of this nation to your hand. It’s you who set boundaries and every nation has a purpose and a calling — For the extension of the kingdom of God.

Receive the soul of this nation. If we ever needed you, we need you now.

In this time of transition, when the gates of hell have risen against this land, we need you.

Uganda has a destiny, laid out, before the foundation of the world.

Take a stand in the spirit and raise your rod, father. Have mercy upon us for failing our duty in this land. Yet now we see our failure: we went into slumber. We didn’t trumpet the truth. There is, however, hope in you.

When you appeared before Joshua, you said you don’t take sides with men. Our sentiments have heard a better part of us.

Forgive us as your church for playing religion. For taking sides in human conflict. For running with the sides of men.

No politician can save this land and we don’t put our trust in any man.

We humble ourselves… We are walking away from our wicked dealings.

Free our hearts.

When Balaam was hired to frustrate the destiny of Israel you rose and fought him. The destiny of our nation is in your hands and no man can guarantee the destiny of our nation.

There is a voice calling you over this land. Hear us as you planned it.
The destiny of Uganda is in your hands Rescue this land.

Let mercy prevail from the city to the towns. Avert the evil invented for this land, for the glory of your name.

Uganda needs you. Uphold our land, God. You alone can sustain this land. Not a political system, not an army, not police. You alone, Baba.

For God And My Country.

STAY BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED.
