USA based Ugandan Pastor Charles Bagenda of Houston Praise Community Church (HPCC) has died at 48 years of age.

The deceased is survived by one wife Betty with whom they had three children; Aaron, Ann and Amazing.

Gospel musician Josephine Namakula based in USA and Pastor Bernard Joshua Kirabira of C3 Church Kazo – Kawaala confirmed his passing on Sunday saying, “life support machines were put off the preacher after the brain failed to respond for a prolonged period of time.”

On Wednesday, First Baptist Church, Beasley issued a statement saying Pr Bagemda was in the hospital with a blood clot in the brain.

This was followed by a ‘GoFundMe” campaign to meet his medial bills at West Houston Medical Center where he had been admitted under intensive care.

“Due to the escalating medical bills each day, we kindly request your financial support as soon as possible in order to ensure our beloved Pastor and Community Member receives all the necessary care that he needs at this critical moment,” the Ministry wrote at that time.

Sources report that Pastor Charles Bagenda’s illness started when he returned from Uganda after a church mission one week ago.

UG Christian New was on Saturday able to call the Preacher’s close friend, Pr Mildred in Boston amid rumor that his death had occurred earlier. This was disputed.

Pastor Charles Bagenda has preached the gospel for over 18 years. He served in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, North America Asia and the Caribbean.

In Houston he served as senior pastor of Christ United Pentecostal Ministries (CUPM) Houston, for seven years. In 2004 and 2007, Pastor Charles Bagenda was honored by the Mayor of Houston for his exemplary leadership in the community.

It was just a few years ago that he started a new church; Houston Praise Community Church (HPCC) where people have been meeting every week.
