English-speaking church in down town Kampala, Watoto Church will on Sunday, 21 May stage a mega family festival at Namboole Stadium, located 8km on the Kampala-Jinja highway.

Gates will be open at 9 am, lunch will be served in cell groups, the Church has said.

There will be a Service at 11 am and Praise Rally starting 3 pm.

Most popular for her majority youth, Gary Skinner and his wife Marilyn, the founders of Watoto Church say, the secret to keeping the young people is having exciting church services.

“We don’t change the biblical message but the method of delivering it. We keep the preaching relevant and since the young people need someone to look up to we act like mum and dad to them.” Gary said during one recent interview with Daily Monitor.

Watoto Church is famous for events such as the annual Christmas Cantata, Morph production, Time Out and PhatFest that is run in partnership with Power 104.1 FM.

While Celebrating 33 years of God’s goodness in 2014, Mr Gary used the opportunity to revealed how the church has expanded, adding that this prompted him and his team to came up with the idea of cell meetings.

“Through these constant meetings, people would continue living a godly life without necessarily being at church.” He said.
