What God told Dr. John Mulinde about the Great Commission

God spoke midway a 30 day fast; do you know what I'm doing in the rest of the nations of the world?

Rev. Dr. John W. Mulinde, the Founder and General Overseer of World Trumpet Mission, has challenged the body of Christ in Uganda to look beyond its walls in order to carry out the Great Commission.

He hosted a week-long ‘Trumpet Camp’ attended by dignitaries from various parts of the world at the Africa Prayer Mountain of all Nations in Seguku, along Entebbe road.

Dr Mulinde stated that this year’s camp was organised quite differently from the previous ones in that more hours were dedicated to workshops for practical teachings aimed at life transformation.

He described Matthew 28:19 which addresses the ‘Great Commission’, as one of the commonest verses in the bible, yet often mistranslated.

“What does it mean to carry a mandate that is global? It is not enough to say that my church or congregation is in a particular place, and I’m reaching out to people in that area. That may be the practical approach, but do you feel satisfied to concentrate your attention on a very specific area and ignore the fact that the mandate is global?” Dr Mulinde questioned.

With attention on the local Church, he urged that there is need for believers to find out what is happening in other nations, and be part of the great commission.

He explained that Jesus’s supreme authority empowers His Great Commission, and while not all believers maybe able to travel one nation to the other sharing the gospel, they can lay a foundation for others to do this.

“While you labor in the local territory, how do you connect to the global network? How does your labor fit and contribute to global work?

“Jesus started by preparing a team. That team was not going to stop in Israel like He did.” Dr Mulinde said. “While He worked in Israel alone, He sowed a seed for the global work. He made sure the work does not stop in Israel. He made sure the work will go to the ends of the earth. The question now is; how about you?”

He continued: “Where are you laboring? Do you even know what is going on globally? Do you care? Do you know that some of the things you have with you could help somewhere else? Do you understand that the needs you have can be plugged by someone who is on another side of the world if only you were connected?”

Other speakers at this camp concluded 26th May included Lieutenant Colonel Edith Nakalema, head of the State House Anti-corruption unit, Pastor Sheyn Payne (USA), Pastor Pat Francis (Canada), Pastor Cindy Gan (Malysia), Faith Katana and many others.

Dr Mulinde said The Prayer Mountain was dedicated about 20 years ago, to be for unseasoned prayer for the nations.

Since its launch in 1999, he said prayer has been going on day and night.
