The Church often wants to transform lives, but what they need to do first is change the way they think, popular television evangelist Apostle Alex Mitala says.

Speaking to hundreds of Christians during the 2017 Renewal Summit at Gaba Community Church – Kampala, Apostle Mitala explained the issue of transformation and how it requires not only a change in action, but also thinking.

Specifically, Mitala quoted Numbers 14:24: “But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.”

“The church must learn to think differently, but you can’t think differently unless you carry a different spirit.” He said. “Do something that will last. See beyond, stop fearing, look forward…Transformers think differently.”

He challenged Church planters and Pastors on preaching what people in the pews want to hear in a sermon.

“Transformers don’t preach easy messages, they preach messages that will bring life to the people. Why do you expect God to do miracles and wonders when all you are doing is making noise.”

Apostle Mitala shared the characteristics of a transformer stating that such an individual or church thinks differently, sees beyond the now, and envision the future, stands determined to achieve irrespective of what is around, has a different spirit and ministers to see results, for God’s glory.

Alex founded Back to the Bible Truth [BBT] Evangelistic Team in 1979, and for the last 9 years has served as the Chairman of the New Birth Fellowship, representing more than 20,000 churches in Uganda. Gaba Community Church says through his leadership, thousands of churches have been planted.
