Through his Sermon on wealth creation at Amazing Grace Faith Church – Kampala on Sunday, Apostle Anthony Muhumuza said God wouldn’t give people power to create wealth is he was not interested in them creating it.

He told listeners it is wrong when Christians think they can become wealthy when a Pastor or anyone anointed lays hands on them.

“It is a lie,” he said, noting that prosperity is a covenant issue, basing his study on Deuteronomy 8:18 which says; But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

“There are many blessings you can get from God on a promise basis – repent, be baptized and you shall receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to do anything apart from believing in Jesus for you to receive the Holy Spirit. But you will need to engage the covenant if you are going to walk in prosperity.

“No one should ever lie to you that I will lay hands on you and you become rich. That God has anointed me, I lay hands on you and you become prosperous. No, Prosperity is a covenant issue.” He stated.

“Before God prospers people, He must engage them in a covenant – why? because the prosperity of a fool will destroy him. God must make sure that He gets your heart into a deal of a covenant so that when you prosper, you will not be wild.

“There are people who will enter heaven because they do not have the resources enough to take them away from God. There are people who cannot afford the way they want to sin and because of that, they are still in church.” He said, then quoted Deuteronomy 28:1, Isaiah 1:19 and Job 36:11.

“And God does not give money, He gives the blessings and, the blessing of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow.

“If you have an agreement, a memorandum of understanding with anyone, the greatest gift you can give to yourself is to find out your part in the deal and do it. And then know what belongs to you after you have done your part.

“So when you make a claim, you are not making an ignorant claim, you are making it based on what you have done in the covenant. People who have understood this do not pray; God give me money, they say; God show me why I am lacking. Because according to the covenant, I’m not supposed to lack.” He said.

Apostle Muhumuza urged that Poverty is not God’s idea and it is not His will. If there is any lack, it is not of God, he stressed, quoting Mathew 6:10.

“People think that wealth creation is a Church program – it is something that Pastors come up with because of their own intentions. But I want to show you that it is God who is in the wealth creation business because it is Him who gives power to create wealth.”

“Any country that wants to deal with any vice or form of indiscipline – they do not go for the ones that are practicing the indiscipline – they usually go for the ones that are funding the indiscipline…

“Now if you want to deal with this wealth creation business, you cannot deal with us pastors, because we are not the ones funding it. If you want to stop this prosperity business, you have to go to heaven and engage with God. Because it is God who gives the power to get wealth. And because He cannot be attacked, wealth creation is forever.” He said.
