Apostolic call for National Day Of Prayer

We have not had a National Voice to rally all the Pentecostal & Evangelical Churches.

By Apostle John Bunjo

Dear Servants of God, men and  women  in  our  great Nation Uganda.

About 2 (two) weeks ago, out of  concern about what is going on in our nation, I realized that since our nation went into lockdown, we have not had a National Voice to rally all the Pentecostal & Evangelical Churches to intercede as it is written in  2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV; “If my people who are called by My Name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways, then l will  hear  from  heaven   ,and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

I got to  realize that we need an Apostolic voice, to rally all the different Umbrella bodies across the spiritual divide to come together and call upon the Name of the LORD. Certainly, the different groups and Churches have been praying and fasting concerning the current situation. Brethren, we have prayed.

The President of the Republic of Uganda declared 25th June 2021 a National Day of Prayer to seek God’s intervention. To me it was a sign of approval that God was really calling us to Pray. Since this came from the Central Government, we thank God for that. Then l got a revelation that for this type of prayer that calls upon the Lord to save a Nation, we ought to take consideration as is written in 1 Kings 18 when God wanted to save the land of Israel from great drought and famine.

We see Elijah take people to the mountain for prayer, Mount Carmel; He allowed the false prophets to pray and call upon their gods. They prayed from morning till noon and there was no response from their gods even though they engaged whatever they always did to prompt the gods, they shouted and called fire, but fire never came down to burn the sacrifice at the Altar.

Through this Scripture the Lord revealed to me these 2 things:

  1. When Elijah started preparing the altar for the sacrifice, he neither shouted  nor prayed. He instead sought an atmosphere that can attract GOD to descend to the altar. He re-organized the altar by collecting the 12 stones, a symbol of unity of the 12 tribes of ISRAEL.

Remember Jezebel had disorganized and dismantled the altar at Mt. Carmel thus destroying the altar where God would come and save His people. She killed all the other prophets of God as in Verse 22  where Elijah said, “I’m the only one of the Lord’s prophets left”.

Brethren, whatever you place at the Altar, the issue is the make up of the Altar.

In John 17:1-26, when Jesus was praying the High priestly Prayer (the longest Prayer of Jesus in any of the Gospels), He said; ’Father, I pray that they may be one as we are one”. He called for unity.

  1. In the book of Exodus, the priestly breastplate was a sacred breastplate worn by the High Priest of the Israelites. It had on it the 12 jewels of different minerals, each symbolizing a specific tribe of Israel, which was also showed that we should go into the presence of GOD united as His Children.

All the above are talking about Unity, this is the BASIS on which I’m calling for this NATIONAL PRAYER.

It’s time to call upon the 12 stones; all Umbrella Organizations, Churches, Believers and leaders all over. I’m in one accord with brethren in the different groups like BAFFE, NAFBAC, UFFE, PAG, MIRACLE CENTRE FAMILY and other unity organizations of believers. This time God wants us to stand as one voice not commanded by any Group but rather a Voice that will bring us all together.

Today, each stone is organizing prayer and this is what Jezebel wants (a divided Altar) but Elijah brought those stones together so my appeal to us is to heed the call of God.

I believe the Lord is restoring the Apostolic Voice in this scenario of COVID and the Lord wants us to organize a day of Prayer with at least 2 Hours on Media platforms.

Then regarding the issue of Mt. Carmel this was the highest mountain in   Israel  . In our case today, this is the Media. Let’s go to the  Media. We shall use UBC TV, Frequency Radios and Community Radios to have all regions participate in this prayer.

My prayer is that all the leaders in your respective capacities adhere to this cause. It’s not a new movement but rather a collection of “stones”.

Each time we come together, some issues come up to disorganize the Unity.

Mahatma Gandi once said, “I like Christ and His teaching but I hate His followers because of Division.” India went into Buddhism instead of going to Christ.

In another incident, l was told of a story where Paul Franklin Crouch of TBN left two sons giving them the responsibility  to take care of the TBN networks which had spread to over 200 nations with 300 Television stations and he said to them that if there was a need to release 1 billion dollars towards the work of the TVs, both his sons had to have consent to sign but if the amount required was below 1 billion dollars, they could take on the role individually. Now these 2 sons were not cooperative to each other and the hatred they built slowed the progress of the spread of the Gospel of Christ by limiting the stations across nations.

So, we either continue in our disagreement and lose out on the benefits of unity or we can come together and gain great benefits of unity to help the people we lead. God believes in Unity; Father, Son and the Holy Spirit .

May God Bless you and I pray that this cause takes us to the next level.’
