President Museveni points Christians to agriculture

Promoting Livelihoods and Self-reliance.

President Museveni has donated eight (8) Dairy Cows to Mukono Diocese as one of the ways of supporting Church of Uganda by integrating it in NAADS Projects.

This follows a request from Church of Uganda last year by Retired Archbishop Rt Rev Stanley Ntagali to the President to support our efforts to establish sustainable projects with a long term goal of boosting the Household income of Christians.

Mukono RDC Mr Fred Bamwine who delivered cows on behalf of the President promised to give a hand in all the necessary trainings required in looking after these cows for better outputs .

The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt Rev James William Ssebaggala thanked the President for honoring his pledge adding that this donation will help in improving the income of the Diocese as well as fighting Poverty.

Bishop Ssebagala also appealed to all Christians to engage in Agriculture as well as interesting there Children to take it up because that’s the way to go.

Mukono District Chairperson Mr Andrew Ssenyonga said that President Museveni is a parent with a giving heart hence Mukono Diocese should embrace his Donation through taking good care of the Cows .

He further encouraged Bishop Ssebagala to always be an example in working hard for the betterment of the Laity adding that the good working relationship between Mukono Diocese and the district Leadership has yielded fruits.

Several other Dioceses have received cows, goats and other agricultural inputs.
